You're within easy walking distance of sandy beaches, restaurants, shops, a coffee roaster, and a market. Explore nearby hiking trails, Mount Battie, and the charming towns of Belfast, Camden, Rockport, and Rockland. Enjoy the comfort of our cottage, which is heated and cooled by an efficient heat pump. We're committed to sustainability: Our solar panels generate more than enough electricity to power both the main house and the cottage, so you can relax knowing your stay is eco-friendly. The cottage boasts an open floor plan that floods the space with beautiful eastern light. If you're an early riser, prepare to be amazed by the stunning Maine sunrises! (Did you know Maine's motto, "Dirigo," means "I lead," signifying that the sunlight reaches Maine first each morning?) From the cottage, you'll have lovely views of the islands of Islesboro, just three miles away. You can easily reach them by ferry or charter boat. Our cottage is conveniently located near the ferry terminal and public landing on Route 1. The balcony offers a glimpse of the vibrant working waterfront, where you'll see fishing boats, delivery vehicles, and locals waiting for the ferry or water taxi. For your complete privacy and convenience, you'll have full and exclusive access to the cottage during your stay. We use a secure, keyless entry system with an August Smart Lock for your convenience. This means you'll receive an entry code that grants you easy and private access throughout your visit. We live next door with our family of four. You might see us enjoying our yard – gardening, relaxing on our deck, or simply enjoying the outdoors. We're always happy to chat with you and share some local tips, but we also completely understand and respect your desire for privacy. The cottage is within walking distance to a sandy beach, a few restaurants, and pubs. We recommend you stop in at Green Tree Coffee & Teas and Dot's Market too. Most of the businesses in the neighborhood are locally owned and all proudly provide excellent customer service. Lincolnville Beach is a working waterfront with daily ferry service to Islesboro and is home to several fishing vessels. The neighborhood is walkable and the cottage is a short drive from Camden, Rockport, and Rockland to the south, Belfast to the North. The closest airport is the Knox County Regional Airport (Rockland) in Owls Head - 30 minutes away. The Concord Trailways bus stops at the post office up the street every morning and afternoon. Most of Maine is easiest to see if you have a car. Wake up to stunning sunrises at The Ferry Cottage! This charming cottage enjoys abundant natural light thanks to its large windows. Based on guest feedback, we recently installed professional blinds on the sliding glass doors for privacy. Conveniently located on Route 1, The Ferry Cottage offers easy access to local shops, restaurants, and attractions. While the cottage is ideally situated, Route 1 is a busy 30mph road.
