Hi, I’m Jennifer,  the host of Ferry Cottage here on Maine’s beautiful mid-coast.

I started Ferry Cottage as a way to welcome friends, family, and now guests from all over to this incredibly special corner of Maine. My favorite way to start the day is with a cup of coffee in hand, watching the ferry glide across the bay—it's a peaceful ritual I never take for granted.

Over 20 years ago, my family and I moved to Maine from New Haven, Connecticut, in search of a slower, more intentional pace of life. We’ve found it here, surrounded by nature and supported by a warm and generous community. This is where we raised our two beautiful daughters, and it’s the place that continues to shape our values and way of life.

I hope that when you stay at Ferry Cottage, you get the chance to truly unwind—whether that means exploring the coastline, reading on the deck, or simply breathing in the salty sea air. Sustainability is a big part of how we live and host here. From the solar panels that power the house and cottage to the eco-friendly cleaning products we use, we aim to tread lightly and care deeply for this land we’re lucky to call home.

When I’m not hosting, you’ll often find me in the garden just below the deck, where I grow flowers and vegetables throughout the season. It brings me so much joy to share a space that reflects not only our love of the outdoors, but our commitment to a more thoughtful, inclusive, and connected world.
