Right across the street from Ferry Cottage, Lincolnville Beach is a small but special stretch of sandy shoreline that invites you to slow down and savor coastal life. Whether you're sipping your morning coffee, catching the sunrise, or watching the ferry come and go, the beach offers front-row views of Penobscot Bay and the islands beyond. Perfect for a barefoot stroll, a picnic on a warm day, or some light beachcombing after a storm. At low tide, the waterline reveals shells and sea glass.
Just steps away, you’ll find a handful of charming local spots: grab a lobster roll or fish taco, browse a gift shop, or pick up a morning pastry. It’s also the perfect launch point for day trips to Islesboro, nearby Camden, or inland hikes.
Small but wonderfully situated, Lincolnville Beach is more than just a view—it’s a part of the experience here.
Just steps from Ferry Cottage, the Islesboro Ferry (officially The Margaret Chase Smith) offers a scenic and authentic taste of coastal Maine life. It runs several times daily between Lincolnville and Islesboro, a quiet island just three miles offshore.
The 20-minute ride is a peaceful way to take in views of Penobscot Bay, complete with sailboats, seabirds, and the occasional seal. Even if you don’t disembark, hopping on for a roundtrip is a unique and relaxing way to experience the coast from the water.
