Right outside your door, this quiet curve of shoreline is where Ferry Cottage meets the sea.
Lincolnville Beach may be small in size, but it’s rich with the rhythm of coastal life. Morning light dances on the water as the ferry drifts in and out of view. The sand—soft under bare feet—invites a leisurely stroll, a waterside picnic, or a contemplative hunt for shells and sea glass after the tide pulls away.
Within a few minutes' walk, you’ll find beloved local haunts: fresh pastries, fish tacos, lobster rolls, and a tiny market where the coffee’s strong and the smiles come easy. It’s all part of the pace here—unhurried, neighborly, quietly captivating.
Whether you stay close or set off for Islesboro, Camden, or the hills beyond, Lincolnville Beach is more than a backdrop. It’s part of what makes this place feel like home.
Just steps from Ferry Cottage, the Islesboro Ferry (officially The Margaret Chase Smith) offers a scenic and authentic taste of coastal Maine life. It runs several times daily between Lincolnville and Islesboro, a quiet island just three miles offshore.
The 20-minute ride is a peaceful way to take in views of Penobscot Bay, complete with sailboats, seabirds, and the occasional seal. Even if you don’t disembark, hopping on for a roundtrip is a unique and relaxing way to experience the coast from the water.
